15th Concrete Polishing Job for a School in 2018
Another school done by Concrete Floor Systems. Wow this is our 15th school of the year done and a few more to do. Longmont Innovation for the St. Vrain Valley School District.

Hord Coplan Macht (HCM) schools always turn out great. Especially when Concrete Floor Systems polishes their concrete. LOL. Love the natural rock look around the concrete pedestal. This job was done almost 2 years ago.
How did we do this?
We came in early in the project and ground and polished the slab. We use high-quality diamonds from Pantheon Sales and Rental which are from Diamatic. They only use South Korea diamonds. We cross hatch the floor and refine the floor to full refinement.
After we get to a 200 grit we densify the floor at 200 sq ft per gallon. We work in the Diamatic Ultra-Sil and allow it to dry overnight. Best way to densify. Then we do the 400-800-1800 grits. All edges are done by hand. All door jams are done with a small tool. No halos around the walls or door jams for CFS.
We put down two very thin applications of stain protection and burnish. Then we covered the floor with EZ Cover from Pantheon Sales and Rental.
It’s simple enough when you have highly trained craftsman working for your company…. Polished concrete if done correctly will last a lifetime, but when companies cut corners, it will not hold up or look this good.
Here is another project we were called out to review after it was polished by the low bid polisher. This was polished by a company out of Colorado Springs.
Yes, we did bid this project but told our number was too high. Now we are looking to fix it and the number just went up since we have so much more work to do. Amazing. I am getting calls on a weekly basis about floors like this.
Trust me, folks…. Finding quality concrete polishers is tough. If you have one make sure to stick with them and do not let them go. The reason this business is so tough for an estimator is the GC really does not know what the polishers is doing when they are on the slab trying to polish it.
Here are some photos of Fort Lupton High School that we did 3 years ago. In addition to the concrete polishing, we had 4 logos installed on the floor.
After 3 years, the logos and floor have held up extremely well – as expected with polished concrete floors.
Concrete polishing is fantastic for schools and other government buildings. Not only does it look great, but it also provides these benefits:

In the photo below, we are letting the densifier dwell in overnight. One of the ways Concrete Floor Systems gets their floors to last as long as they do.
The photo below is during the final diamond grit:
You can see some of the work that we’ve performed for some other government clients (including schools) in our government client photo gallery.
This is the terrazzo floor 1 year later after polishing.
We did our CFS polished system on the floor which included hardening the cement base terrazzo. The floor was fully refined with diamonds only (No Coating) and the floor 1 year later looks like the day we left it.
Northeastern Junior College will not have to strip and re-wax their floor which is going to save them more than what is cost to CFS diamond polished the floor.
They loved the results so much they asked us to come back and polish a lot more terrazzo floor at the school. Our company philosophy is take care of your customers they will keep calling you back. This is another reason we have a 5 star rating on Google.
Doing this type of work is not easy. It takes years of training, quality head pressure machines and diamonds, attention to detail and best of all very high quality employees.
